I have always wanted to adopt. As a child, I thought I would only adopt – no
husband or biological children for me.
Luckily, God had other plans for me in the husband and children
department. He also chose to bless me
with a compassionate husband and children with a “large” family mentality.
This blog is to journal our progress from this point forward
– the fun stuff. There were too many
hills and valleys, as well as years of flat plains to share the journey before
this point. No one really wants to hear
the gory stories of childbirth; they just want to see the rosy-faced baby. The same is true for adoption. No one really wants to hear the lamenting
through the paperwork and endless waiting; they just want to see the final
product. That’s where we are. We are about to embark on the journey that
will last a lifetime. Soon, very soon,
we are going to get to see that sweet face that we have been praying for,
begging for, lamenting over for the past four years!
Due to the long process of international adoption, my sweet,
oldest daughter flew the coop before our match was made. Unfortunately, that means she cannot cross
the pond with us. Her studies wouldn’t
wait for her. Fortunately, that means
she gets to be our American eyes and ears while on this leg of the
journey. She will be a major contributor
keeping everyone (aka the grandmas) up to date on our travels and experiences.
Buckle your seat belts – we’re taking off!
