Saying Goodbye to New Friends
The Bridges family was at the guesthouse on ‘holiday’. They
live in Chinca; way, way out there. Jonathan is the sustainability coordinator
for Onesimus ministries. He runs an apple orchard. They are originally from
Sanford, NC. His brother, Joe, is the founder of Onesimus.
On Friday, we had one last pizza lunch at Antica with our
new friend Kimmie. She was going to be in ET for two more weeks with a team of
dentists from her hometown. Solomon was going to drive for them.
Dawit (age 4) loved Ian. Ian was such a great sport. He
played ball with him, played forts with him, wore a superhero cape for him.
Jessica, Dawit’s mom, said she was glad they weren’t going to be there many
more days after we left, certain that Dawit would be whining about missing Ian!
Nega, the director and legwork of Onesimus.
The Rizzuti family
They adopted 3 sisters that they had identified on a
previous trip. They live in Greenville, about 3 blocks from Emily. They used
Sabrina as their travel agent. Meredith found her on the Internet. Small world.
Kimmie Jo and her new friend Emily!
The Tipton’s are also a Gladney family. They went to court
one week before we did. They made the decisions that Cindy would stay in ET
however long it took. Ryan was leaving Saturday to go back home. Cindy could be
there for up to 12 weeks. They are from Atlanta, GA.
